MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA - Jordan used a first round 73 and a second round 77 to miss the cut by 5 strokes at the 2018 Monterey Open. The Championship took place at Del Monte Golf Course on the Monterey Peninsula. Del Monte is a part of The Pebble Beach Resorts that also includes Spyglass Hills, The Links at Spanish Bay, and iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links. Jordan finished in a tie for 67th in a field of 126 professionals. Jordan started the tournament on fire. After an opening birdie on number 10, Jordan holed out from 74 yards on number 11 for eagle. He showed flashes of brilliance in nearly every aspect of his game, but was just too inconsistent to make the cut of the top 40 players in ties. However, the tournament offered great experience and the opportunity to assess where his game is strong and what still needs work. There are many shots that Jordan will need to master in order to score well on courses with green complexes like the ones found at Del Monte. Jordan has plans of making some adjustments to his equipment as well.
Jordan will now gear up for his first PGA Tour Pre Qualifier at Boulder Creek Golf Club outside of Las Vegas. The pre qualifier will award the top finishers an opportunity to qualify Monday for the Shriners Hospital for Children Open taking place at TPC Summerlin at the end of the month.
